Touring in China

Touring at China I found many teens, not teens- say young… who were guiding us.  They are smarter than the old generations. Take an example- Zane and Jojo… the two young girls as well impressed us a lot. Zane guided us in Beijing tour, she was explaining about the Great wall, Tian-an-men Square, other parts of Beijing equally translating her leaders during banquet. She is continuously accompanying us throughout the tour. Her in Xiamen as well she is with us. Nice and lovely girl, nearly equal to my son’s age!

Zane is accompanying us Beijing to Xiamen and Jojo was our guide in Nanjing.

(Xiamen, China)- It is extremely exciting for me today that I received e-mail from my 6 year old daughter. She is talented and is no doubt lovely one! I never expected that she will use her mother e-mail account and reached to me. I am missing her…

However, I am enjoying as well. Through Beijing to Nanjing and now touring at Xiamen, it is further adding me energy to learn this beautiful world. People’s saying on development and their feeling to their history, their ancestors and so on and so forth!

Today’s morning, it is extremely lesson learning. A 23 years old tiny girl named Vivian Li beautifully explained how much Xiamen people love their country. “You can say it as mini-Taiwan and Taiwan as duplicate of Fujian, the Xiamen” she started by saying.

We 27 South Asian unionists ranging age group late 30s to 70s were following her. Dragging our attention totally on her, little Vivian was saying- “we are crossing this sea and visit Next Island known as Gu Long Yu! You know what is Gu Long… Gu is a drum and Long is the sound producing by it… bum bum!”

She has extra talent to express her feeling. She said- we are the people in small province of PRC, however we are world famous dwellers of nice city! In 2004 our city Xiamen won international award for environmentally preserved and clean city. We have proud on it.”

We crossed sea by a big-boat! Vivian was saying, gentlemen you will not see any motorbike or car in Gu Long Yu. The motorbike is used only by postmen, people either walks or used electric car… this all for protecting our environment!

Really, Gu Long Yu is like a heavenly garden! We saw a rock, from which the Garden Island got its name was significantly eroded by sea water. However, there were plenty of things to see as tourists. We gave a glance to art museum and visited Piano Museum. To my surprise as Nepali, whose “revolutionary” Monkey army loves to destroy most of old day’s history to establish oneself, I saw preservation of many things from the entire dynasty to the revolutionary periods. It is one of the great things that we have to sincerely learn by Chinese.

A big statue drew my attention in the meantime; I click a photograph as well. “Who is he” I asked? Oh, he is a great man! This whole Island was of this gentleman, Vivian said. “Look that harbor- it was his private boating place. During the war time the wealthiest persons of China were supposing Xiamen as safe heaven. His name is….”

We spent sufficient time at Gu Long Yu. We had limited job today after this. Our schedule was due at 5 pm only. The stone cave, rock tower etc etc we interestingly observed. We knew that Taiwan was just 30 minutes fly far from Xiamen.

Xiamen was known as Amoy in earlier time.  “Xiamen means gate way!” Little Vivian argued- ” It is gateway for China’s business plus the gateway in military strategic viewpoint! You know China looks like big-chicken; and Xiamen is in its belly!”

Way back to lunch, we listen much on its development.

Xiamen is one of the 5 SEZ in China built after 1980s. “We love Deng Xiaoping as our hero” said Vivian-”China was dead during Cultural Revolution time, we rebirth after Deng’s Era. It is Deng, who opened up our country with world and chooses 5 provinces for economic development. We are lucky that Xiamen had been chosen.”

Xiamen now has 6,000 Multi National Companies. Its major business is trade, tourism and light industries. Xiamen is 7th harbor of PRC.

Thanks to the great leader Deng- he made our life prosperous. You know in 1980s Xiamen was a village of poor fishers, now you can see we are the people of one of the beautiful city” Vivian was lecturing us –”Obviously the giant China’s all people are not rich, but look at us- we are getting better life! We will contribute to our people of North and West from our earning. After some years, it is my opinion, entire China will be richest than the Xiamen”.

Little Vivian explaining us as a political leader, who sometimes very adhered on own stand and sometimes just relaxed as the diplomats.

Thus she quickly remembers Mao-Ze-Dong and said- “he is in our heart, we Chinese have a great respect on him.”

“You know Chian-Kai-Sek gentlemen?” she asked and answered herself- “he separated Taiwan from mainland. In this sense you can brand him as a traitor.”

She further expressed her faith on united China.

“China now has policy of one country, two systems. It means we will follow both the Socialism and the Capitalism. Socialism will continue- at mainland and Capitalism- at Hong Kong, Macau and if reunited at Taiwan.”

“Taiwan will come back surely” she said- they are also saying Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s three principles- Nationalism, Democracy, and prosperous life of the people. “

“We consider Taiwan as the naughty child, who left home quarreling with parents and while understands, comes back to own home!”

Simple but political; this little Vivian impressed all of us.

I was remembering my tiny daughter Smriti, after receiving her mail- who generally asks me many questions-” Babaa what is this and what is that, why brother is not dreaming what he will be in future… I will be physician…. etcetera; etceteras!”

Touring at China I found many teens, not teens- say young… who were guiding us.  They are smarter than the old generations. Take an example- Zane and Jojo… the two young girls as well impressed us a lot.

Jojo added in our team at Nanjing, she was beautifully explaining about Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s Mausoleum, Yangtze River bridge, Confucius’s temple, Ming Dynasty’s preserved heritage, the museum and the presidential palace.

These all are in my heart and look like my young son and I love to behave them as my small Smriti!
