Happy New Year: Nepal Sambat, Rastria Sambat !
Today, basically people in Kathmandu Valley marked new Nepali Era Nepal Sambat 1129. This Era is based on lunar calender and started 1129 years befor when a person known as Shankhadhar Saakhwa paid back loan of Kathmandu’s poor.
This day was celebrated different ways since 4 decades. I myself has been participating since 25 years. At those days, we were maximising the celebration as a Day for Protest against the then autocratic rulars. And demand was Nepal Era should be recognised as National Era instead of Bikram Era. I seek PM’s answer
I guess those non-Nepali speakers certainly felt uneasy seeing my feeling in devnagari script. I thought, am not doing justice myself. The Nepali version all about my 5-minutes speech in Constituent Assembly. Subject was comment on Government Policy and programme.
My speech was supportive however bit in critical line. I was exhibiting my double face… supporting policies as per my Party line, which is second largest group in rulling coalition. I was definitely critical that the programme and policy was not looks like a programme presented by a Communist dominated rulling group. Interestingly, I found comments from known and unknown persons on my blog! I was infact not expecting this. The reason, my blog was just under construction and I thought who will visit blog of poor Bishnu! My thinking was not correct, I felt-”people are watching me from different corners!” Thus, I feel here as well- one more responsibility has added on me!
I will certainly give continuity on it!
Let me express my desire… I will post my feeling in Nepali as well and that will be perhaps related to my performance in Constituent Assembly.
